I think I have personally learned and improved a great deal since the preliminary match cut exercise. Things I have improved on include camera work, focus, framing, sound quality and mise en scene. However I think we were able to create good match cuts in both the preliminary exercise and the thriller.
The most important aspect we have improved on is the over the shoulder shots. This is because in the match cut exercise we didn't put much effort in to where the shoulder was in the shot as we didn't realise the importance. However in our thriller we concentrated more on the shots and made sure it was perfect.

The second thing we improved on best was mise en scene. We did not choose appopriate mise en scene in our first task simply because we didn't have time and therefor we could not make out the authoritive figure over the student. However in our thriller we knew what we wanted and put a lot of work in to what the main character should be wearing - we wanted a sopisticated, smart look and simple things like sunglasses made all the difference.

Sound was also a big part of our thriller- it was an aspesct that created suspense, and so we used sound track pro. However in the match-cut evercise we left the original sound.
