Suspense can can be created in many different ways such as:
- a cliffhanger moment at the end of a film creating shock amongst the audience
- a 'ticking time bomb' because time itself is used to create suspense - there is a race against time
- characters are often in suspenseful situations making the audience empathize with them.
- also music (sound), atmosphere (mood), light, camera angles, editing and mise en scene all make a difference to how suspense is formed.
