Every film follows the convention of protagonist vs antagonist. The film we watch in class, Collateral, Jamie fox was the antagonist and Ton Cruise was the protagonist. Camera and fiilm work, established this very well.
Every film has a antagonist, in Collataral this was Jamie Foxx, as you can see his facial expression in the shot below is very innocent and suggest he is 'unaware'. He wears glasses instead of sunglasses, with no suspicious motives with him.The mid shot is successfull in portray his innocence.
Tanaras facial expression in this are confused and puzzled, suggest she does not know anything as is with Jamie Foxx in Collateral. The mid shot depicts and highlights that she is the antagonist as she doesnt know whats going on. The fact she is reading the newspaper shows she is eager to find something out.
This image portrays the protagonist, immediatley his suspicious facial expression reveals this. The mid shot is successfull in higlighting this. Also the weapon he is holding gives negative connotations, suggeesting he is the baddy. This is similiar to the protagonist in my film who holds a suspicious facial expression too, the sunglasses show how she mysterious, her hidden identity highlight her evil persona.
